Dog-gone TV

Brodie loves watching tv. some of his favorites are Survivor, Amazing Race, and the Dog Whisperer. Most of the time he watches either perched on the stairway landing, or sitting next to us by the sofa. But every once in a while, he jumps up on the sofa to keep me company, and watches from there....like in the photo below. I LOVE this dog! He makes me smile. :-)img00012

More DIY for the Reception

The other project I finished, was this guest book memo board (the first picture below). Inspired by a DIY post on weddingbee.com. The idea is to have guests sign a little card (index size), and place on the board for display. I still need to purchase some index cards, and create a little note to leave by this table so that guests know what to do. The second picture shows an inspiration for my reception table centerpieces. We only have lounge and cocktail tables, so I thought this would work well. Found identical vases at the dollar store, so all I have left on this one is to buy the candles and order the flowers through my florist. I wont have completed photos until the day of the wedding.

Ceremony Aisle Decor

This project had been bugging me for some time, so friday I brought in reinforcement! Emily came over with her beading expertise, and together we figured out a way to bring this project to life. The first photo was my inspiration...unfortunately I can't remember which site I found it on to give proper credit (it may have been a photo i found while searching for a river side venue, maybe Le Rivage?). Anyhow, I felt that I could adapt this to my color scheme by changing out the beads and the type of flower. See image 2 and 3 to see what Emily and I came up with. I am totally excited about using them. Since I am using fresh flowers, I have connected the beads in sections. This way, on the day before the wedding, a few of us can thread the flowers to each section and connect them together (each arrangement is 3 sections of beads and 2 flowers). Then place the flowers into a container, and refrigerate until we set up the ceremony site a few hours before start time. The total cost was about 80 dollars for 8 of these bad boys.

Brunch With the Knottie-Girls

Rings Ha!  Get it?  "Knottie" vs. "naughty", ok I 'm stretching for some material apparently.

Sunday afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting up with some of my online friends from the Nor-Cal Knot boards, an online community and forum for brides-to-be.  There were only four of us, but we still had a really good time.

We had brunch at the Rio City Cafe in Old Sacramento, on the river docks.  We chatted about weddings, things we are doing, life, etc...while sipping on lovely mimosas and watching boats and yachts pass us by.  It was fabulous, and helped me release some stress I was carrying.

Sometimes, in the midst of planning a big wedding, brides can get a little doom-and-gloom feeling.  Like nobody else understands the stress and responsibility that comes with the planning.  This community has helped me keep my sanity over these past few crazy months of planning.  It just helps to know that we are not alone, and that someone else just gets it.
